Deadly M6.9 earthquake struck Cebu, Central Philippines, killing 72

A magnitude 6.9 powerful earthquake struck Cebu Province and its neighbouring islands in the late hours of Sept. 30, 2025, causing widespread structures to collapse and sustain damages, while killing 72 people including children and the elderly.

This is one of the most deadly earthquake in over a decade for the Southeast Asian country of the Philippines.
